1) We need more elected officials who are well versed and have practical experience in “sound” financial principles and budgetary controls.
Unlike other candidates, Carlos has this experience. Carlos is a Chief Financial Officer, Auditor, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Carlos not only has an MBA, but a Masters in Accounting as well. Carlos has the financial management experience and knowledge that we need in the Senate to manage our state budget, safeguard our tax dollars, and hold our government officials accountable.
2) Carlos's life-long passion has been to provide his service to the protection of our nation and the betterment of our community.
He believes in practicing what he preaches. Carlos served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. While in the Marines, he also started a local Toys-for-Tots overseas and led the Toys-for-Tots in Atlanta. After retiring, Carlos continued giving to the community by not only working for several Non-Profits as a CFO, but by volunteering his time and resources on the Board of Directors of Senior Connections, Catholic Charities, Pedestrians Educating Drivers on Safety(PEDS) and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
3) We need stronger advocates in the Senate for issues such as Education, Children, Seniors and Transportation.
Carlos is a very strong proponent of improving our public school system. He knows that it is up to us as a society to ensure that our children are properly educated so that we can continue to succeed as a prosperous nation. He is also a strong advocate of taking care of those who have given us so much – our Seniors. Lastly, Carlos will make certain that proper emphasis is placed on upgrading and expanding our commute alternatives. As a Financial Executive, he understands that to encourage businesses to move to Cobb and Cherokee County we must invest in our infrastructure.
4) For years, we have not had much of a choice regarding whom we elected as our State Senator in District 21. Carlos presents the voters with a viable and fresh alternative. You now have a choice!
A vote for Carlos will be a vote for the “Average Citizen” who truly cares about our community and wants to make a positive difference in Georgia.

The Citizens of District 21 want change and they want a “True Non Partisan” leader who is only interested in doing a great job representing the best interest of the entire community. We do not need a senator who is using District 21 as a “place holder” while he gears up for his real intention, to run for Lieutenant Governor.
